So I went on a vacation with my girlfriend and my Super Hubby decided while I was gone that he would "surprise" me and clean all of the throw rugs in the house, what this really means is Super Hubby threw all said rugs into the washer and turned it on with no regard to the type of rug or color, needless to say all of the throw rugs didn't make it to the dryer, instead they were diverted to the trash can. Super Hubby then proceeded to be even more wonderful and buy the most hideous rugs in all of Maryland to place into our beautiful home. Literally, I think he travels back in time to the 70's for new ugly rugs. Needless to say, once I returned home, those rugs also made it to the trash can. So now I need new rugs and so very, very unlucky for me, that means I have to shop. Oh dear, what a bummer! But I found these amazing mats and read all of the wonderful reviews and I'm happy to say that I purchased 3 of them! I adore them! Absolutely adore them! Yes, the 4' one is a bit heavy for us disabled folk, but it feels soooo good on my toes that I can look past that. Yes there's a ridge or they are not flush with the floor, unless you have a horrible problem with tripping, this really shouldn't be a problem. I can vacuum them, mop them and nothing has gone wrong as of yet. They a well made and seem to be in it for the long haul, which is good, cause me going on quick vacations with friends seems to be expensive on my household items. My suggestion, if you're wanting these mats go on vacation and hope your Super Hubby is a wonderful and attentive as mine! I highly recommend this product!The squishy silicon gel feeling is what I was hoping for.I got this for my mom for Mother's Day because she has a bad back and standing on our tile floor makes it much worse. I gave it to her a day early because she was making salsa and knew she would be standing a lot. I got in black because I thought it wouldn't show dirt as much, but my mom said black shows dirt more than any other color. So she wanted to return it for a lighter tan color that would match the kitchen better. Not wanting to get it dirty she removed the mat, and I searched for another one while my mom continued chopping. I found a green mat by GelPro but then realized it was foam and not gel which I told my mom. She then asked me if I would clean the mat every week because she noticed there was an "immediate difference in my back, I could feel it right away". She had only been using the mat for maybe 10 minutes before taking it away but there was such a difference she didn't want to return it after all! I told her when this one needs to be replaced I'll buy it in a tan color.We put our mat in between the stove and sink so that we could move it back and forth depending on where we need it. We usually do dishes while standing on it and theres no way we could clean for more than 10 minutes while standing on hard wood so this mat is truly a life saver. Might just have to buy another to be honest.The key here is not being fooled by the knock off's that imitate GelPro but are not and are usually half the price!! I bought one....and there is no comparison! I have 3 GelPro 20x36 in the kitchen that are the basket weave in chestnut and they not only look good on the rug- I have a galley style kitchen area with a rug and a floral design on it- but standing on these at the sink to do dishes; or standing on them to cook; or standing on them to do prep work for a meal.....MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!! These should be required by law for workers in grocery stores that have to stand and cut meat all day.....the matts absorb so much of your body weight that your feet and ankles and legs are happy! And I am no lightweight at 6'2"-230 lbs. And I have had my other 2 GelPro matts for years- just glad i was able to find the exact the color and style one last time. In another room I use a truffle colored one in basket weave to stand and paint on.....GelPro makes a quality product and w/ a lifetime warranty. Enjoy! (your feet or your loved one's feet sure will!)I bought this because of the brand name. The foam inside seems thin and undersized for the cover, which is a thin material that wrinkles! It really didn't inspire confidence in the quality and so I have returned it. The replacement I bought for $40 is much thicker and feels way better.Love these rugs! This is my second one. The last one (brown in photo) lasted me almost 11 years; hoping this one is equal quality.I heard that these mats eased pain in your legs, knees and back and that is exactly why I ordered it. I was amazed that as soon as I placed it on my kitchen floor and walked on it I felt an immediate difference and relief. I am excited as I approach my 72nd birthday, I will be able to bake again without having to sit a while before I finish . Thank you for making my life and love of baking a joy once more.
