This book provides good review questions for the IEEE CSDA/CSDP exams. The questions are of the same type which are asked on the CSDP exam.However, the book only covers the content of the SWEBOK. This book is not adequate as a sole source of preparation for the CSDP exam. I would guess that these types of questions from the SWEBOK represent about 50-60% of the CSDP exam.The CSDP exam has a significant number of questions on general business and engineering practices which are not covered in this book.The CSDP exam also has a significant number of questions on detailed computer science topics--there are detailed questions from every course in a typical CS program. My personal favorite from my exam was "What is the asymptotic complexity of the merge sort algorithm?" Off the top of my head I could barely remember what the merge sort algorithm is, let alone be confident in the correct answer (nlog(n) by the way, which is what I guessed).I will say this--this book was an invaluable preparation tool for my CSDP exam, which I passed. Just be sure to use additional books on software engineering as preparation materials.As an aside, I purchased the online materials offered by the IEEE Computer Society. I found these to be fair at best, and not worth the price. I recommend getting more general references on software engineering instead. The many references cited in this book are excellent. If you can afford/borrow them, I highly recommend using them as supplemental preparation materials.
