If you're unsure about this product let me tell you about my experience with it. First off I love it. This has made my fishing experiences even better just by having it installed on my trailer. It can be installed a number of ways and I found that I had to install mine on the tilt section of my roller trailer. It works flawlessly in the wind. It lines up the boat with the trailer as designed, it prevents wind drift requiring a second set of hands to control the boat while you crank it up, and the rubber rollers on the side prevent scratching and gouging on your hull. It takes a little while to install if you want to do it just right but believe me once you install this you will thank yourself each and every time you trailer your boat. Now for my boat. My boat is a 14' 1991 Northwoods Fisherman. It's a Deep "V" hull style with decking throughout and a livewell...etc,. It only has a 30hp motor and the whole thing probably weighs in around 500-600 pounds. It works greate with my size boat but I would say that you could use this with a boat weighing around 1000 pounds as well. The posts are made of galvanized square tubing probably in 10-12 ga area if not 1/8" thick. They're pretty heavy duty. The rollers are heavy too. The only issue with the rollers would be if the boat was too heavy while hitting or touching one side. The connectors that hold the rollers to the uprights are real close to the diameter of the rollers so if it was too heavy a boat, it could press against the roller too much and cause a scratch or gouge. Hypothetical of course but I think it's a sound theory. Buy these for your boat and you won't be disappointed.
