Description

This beautiful flowering, white dogwood is the Missouri state tree and one of the most beautiful of the native American flowering trees on the market. It is a small, deciduous tree which typically grows 15-30 feet with a low-branching, broadly pyramidal but flat-topped habit. The dogwood will bloom in early spring with an overlapping bloom period of the redbuds. The dogwood flowers are tiny, yellowish green and insignificant, button-like clusters. Each flower cluster is has four showy, white, petal-like leaves which open flat, giving the appearance of a single, four-petaled, white flower. The reddish-brown wood is extremely hard, perfect to make handles for tools. I was surprised that the tree of this size could be shipped and arrive in such good shapeI’ve planted it and it’s grown over a foot in just 2 weeks.Very pleasedAddendumI bought the tree in may and it has done well growing about 1 foot or more but now the leaves are turning brown and I’m not sure if it’s dying
