The perfect introductory kit for the homeowner or weekend DIY'er that allows you to crosscut 4x8 sheet goods, single or multiple boards at once, cut beveled edges, or trim narrow boards for face frames or filler strips. Kit includes everything needed for a 4ft cut: One (1) 57 inch trackTwo (2) 57 inch length anti-chip strips, installed on trackOne (1) Universal Saw Adapter PlateOne (1) Set-Up JigOne (1) Hardware Packet (6 bolts, 6 nuts)One (1) Zero Clearance Block, with brass inserts and appropriate boltsFull Color Professionally Edited & Printed Owner's Manual (New for 2019) Accessories available for the True Trac Pro-Series Track Saw System include two styles of clamps, two styles of router adapter plates, a squaring accessory for making 90 degree cross cuts, a custom made carrying and storage case, a dust collection nozzle, as well as an expandable track saw cutting table! Easily Cross Cut 4x8 Sheets of Plywood or Other Materials! With a 57 inch section of the True Trac circular saw guide rail you can easily handle cross-cutting a 4x8 sheet or other sheet-based materialsThe modular design of the True Trac guide allows for easy expansion down the road if your project needs change! By having a 57 inch length of track for a 4ft cut, you'll have an area to start the saw before your cut, as well as an area after the cut is finished to follow through - This helps prevent issues with binding/burning at the start and end of your cut when the saw blade is starting or stopping its rotation. Any Kind Of Saw, For Any Kind Of Cut! With a precision CNC machined Universal Saw Adapter Plate, the True Trac Circular Saw Guide System allows you to modify any existing circular saw from 6-1/2 inches in blade diameter up to 8-1/4 inches for use with our unique guide rail design. If you're looking to handle materials up to 3 inches in thickness, we also offer a specialty saw plate for 10-1/4 inch saws for use with slab lumber or thicker materials. The Universal Saw Adapter Plate allows you to pick the correct type, size, and style of saw to facilitate the projects you're looking at. For example, you probably wouldn't use a 6-1/2" battery powered saw to cut 1-1/2 inch thick granite for a counter top, but a worm drive style saw with the appropriate blade can do so without issue. Same concept with cutting thick hardwood or exotic slabs. Make Chip & Splinter Free Cuts Without Offset Measurements! The True Trac Universal Track Saw System features integrated splinter guards along both sides of the track. You will trim these strips during the initial set-up of the system after setting up your saw on the Universal Saw Adapter Plate. This provides an exact line-of-cut reference and eliminates the need for offset measurements, along with preventing tear-out and splinters on the top surface of your cut. Simply lay the edge of the track down on your mark and make your cut! Expand Your System As Your Needs Change! A great tool to start with and an awesome system to grow with, the True Trac Circular Saw Guide was designed to be modular from the beginning! Utilizing two parallel dovetail-shaped grooves on the underside of the track, you can join multiple pieces of track together with our dovetail shaped connectors. The benefit to using the wedge shaped connectors is that the connection is completely self-aligning both horizontally and vertically. Simply tighten the set screws down and the system handles the rest! Easily Straight Line Rip Live Edge or Rough Sawn Lumber With a True Trac Track Saw you can easily straight line rip any type of material, even if it has an irregular or rough edge. Simply lay the track down and ensure you're trimming off all of the irregularities along the edge. The track will produce a straight and clean edge that can then be used as an index edge for future cuts, or a glue-ready edge with the proper blade style and care. The Universal Saw Adapter Plate can handle 6-1/2" to 8-1/4" diameter circular saws, with a specialty plate available for 10-1/4" saws. Installation Highlights - What You Have To Do To Get Started! Due to the True Trac system being a universal track saw kit, the Saw Adapter Plate must be aligned properly to the blade of your circular saw. Each kit will contain the Universal Saw Adapter Plate, 6 mounting nuts and bolts, 2 threaded brass inserts w/ appropriate bolts (for installing Zero Clearance Block), along with the Zero Clearance Block (small white block) and Saw Set Up Jig (small black block) Step 1 - Aligning The Adapter Plate & Saw Blade The Universal Saw Adapter Plate will be referenced directly to the blade of the saw you wish to adapt. This ensures that the saw blade and adapter plate are parallel to one another, and set to the proper spacing to allow use of the Anti-Chip Strips. This is accomplished with a provided Set Up Jig that comes with every kit. Simply clamp the adapter plate to the base of your saw with spring clamps, grab the Set Up Jig and adjust the plate around to remove gaps between the Jig and body of the saw blade. Once the gaps are removed, C-clamp the adapter tightly to the base of your saw. Step 2 - Drilling The Mounting Holes Once the adapter plate is appropriately spaced using the Set Up Jig and C-Clamps to hold it in place, locate suitable spots on the metal base of your saw to drill through to allow the mounting bolts and nuts to be installed. We utilize nuts and bolts instead of a clamping system for two reasons: One, the design variations between brands, models, and production years makes it almost impossible to maintain universality. Two, a clamp is not consistent enough from use-to-use to maintain accuracy. Finished Goal: Your Circular Saw Turned Into A Track Saw! Once you have your saw securely mounted and have trimmed the Zero Clearance Block and Anti-Chip Strips along the edge of the track, you're all set. Now that you've converted your circular saw into a track saw, you can easily handle all of your straight line cutting needs accurately, safely, and easily! Works great. I think it’s better than a table saw. The set up takes roughly an hour. Only made one mistake. When mounting the zero clearance block make sure you mount it at the front of your saw. The instructions weren’t clear on this. But it makes super straight cuts. You’ll want to buy the clamps too. Also, The anti chip strips can get a little beaten up after some use, especially on the 45 degree cut side. Wish it came with spares.
