I spent months looking through all of the lower priced meat tenderizer offerings to be had here on Amazon and was just too wary of the ones with lots of negative reviews. The biggest complaint I saw for many of them was that the meat tended to get stuck or wrap around the tenderizer head/blades. After reading many bad reviews on these cheaper models, I decided to at least entertain the idea of the higher priced ones. Let me say I am SO glad I did! It did not take me long to run across this tenderizer and the reviews were much more favorable overall. It turns out, after reading some reviews and finding out from my own personal experience, that the Combs this unit includes, truly are what makes the biggest difference. Those cheaper options don't have the combs, which is why the meats tend to get wrapped up in them.This unit is very well made, came well packaged and only required very slight assembly. In fact, my 14 year old daughter texted me at work to tell be that she had opened and assembled the tenderizer for me when it came. Easy peasy.Solid construction overall, the main rollers / blades are all metal. some parts are plastic, but not CHEAP plastic, it all feels quality for sure. For my picky child that thinks basically all meat is too tough, this has been a game changer. She now eats my tenderized creations happily. I have also been able to save some money here and there, but buying larger cuts of meat, then butchering and tenderizing myself (love some country style steak and gravy) so added bonus for me there!Disassembly for clean up is as easy as removing to thumb screws, then everything comes apart for scrubbing with a brush. My only complaint is that the lower part of the housing that holds the blades is attached to the tall base. Without tools, it cannot be removed. This does make cleaning that lower section challenging, as it's large to fit in my sink. that said, i still absolutely LOVE this unit and have already recommended it to a few people.
