I spent hours searching online for a set of folding shelves. I was hoping for sturdy, lightweight, easy to set up, attractive, inexpensive, and free standing. I got all of those with these shelves. The only feature I couldn't find was a unit with 6 shelves instead of 5. My dream shelving unit would have been 72" tall (6 feet) with 6 shelves but, not going to complain after finding this unit. Quite happy with it.This shelf unit is lightweight yet it seems very sturdy. I've only had it up for 2 days but I'm just so happy with it. I did ask a neighbor for help but that was more related to my own back pain than anything else. We laid it on the floor, folded the sides inward, used the 4 screws to fasten the sides to back & lifted it up. The 5 shelves fit over supports and took a bit of "pounding" with our hands to get them snugly fitted. I like that it's free standing too. It seems secure being a couple of inches next to the wall & feels stable.I did get a set that was an "Amazon Warehouse" item for a slightly lower price and probably won't do that again because one shelf had a crack in it. It was described as "very good" with "some package damage" but I couldn't see how the packaging had anything to do with a shelf having a crack. It obviously wasn't inspected. The crack goes across the side of one shelf but it's on the bottom & didn't seem like it was deep enough to affect the strength. I used it for the bottom level & it doesn't feel any weaker. I contacted the company, Vecelo, to ask if they could send me just one single shelf board as a replacement and they responded asking for photos and information. I sent those and they wrote back stating that it would cost too much to mail me another shelf and to contact Amazon for a resolution. They were nice about it and Amazon was fair and quick about a partial resolution.It looks great filled with books and feels sturdy and stable. The regular price is good too. Wish I knew how to attach a photo because it's really attractive.
